[origin: EP0353639A1] Roller blind-type cover for serving pits possessing a plurality of parallel supporting beams (12), whose ends are supported on running rails (13) assigned to the pit edge, the supporting beams (12) being connected on the underside by means of chains (14) extending parallel to the running rails (13) and being movable, by means of a drive (15, 16) acting on the chains, from the covering position into an open or rest position in the pit, and vice versa. For the sake of simpler assembly and adjustment, the running rails (13) form part of a casing (25) which can be placed in a recess in the floor and consists of two longitudinal side walls (26, 27) which are at a distance from each other and are connected to each other at least at their bottom and/or end faces, the running rails (13) to support the diametral ends of the supporting beams (12) being arranged or formed internally in the upper region of each longitudinal side wall. Preferably, the supporting beams (12) are supported at the end on the running rails (13) via running rollers (18) whose axles (19) are designed as an extension of the articulated axles (20) of the chain members. <IMAGE>
