Mattress having a frame which is covered in the transverse direction by a multiplicity of slats which are each supported on the frame at both their ends via at least one device extending along the frame, holding a plurality of slat ends and being resilient in the direction of the stress on the mattress. The slat ends are each held via joints (3, 4, 7) on the resilient device (5), which joints are formed from a joint pin (3) with a spherical or ellipsoidal pivot head (4) and a guide bush (7), into which the pivot head (4) is fitted. The guide bush (7) is supported on the resilient device (5) constructed in the form of a belt, this belt running over rollers, of which one is arranged in each case on each side of a support point of a slat (2). <IMAGE>

Untermatratze mit einem Rahmen, der in Querrichtung von einer Vielzahl von Latten überspannt ist, die an ihren beiden Enden jeweils über wenigstens eine längs des Rahmens verlaufende, mehrere Lattenenden haltende und in Richtung der Belastung der Untermatratze nachgiebige Einrichtung am Rahmen abgestützt sind. Die Lattenenden sind über Gelenke (3, 4, 7) jeweils an der nachgiebigen Einrichtung (5) gehalten, die aus einem Gelenkstift (3) mit einem kugel- oder ellipsoidförmigen Gelenkkopf (4) und einer Führungsbüchse (7) gebildet sind, in die der Gelenkkopf (4) gepaßt ist. Die Führungsbüchse (7) stützt sich auf der in Form eines Bandes ausgebildeten nachgiebigen Einrichtung (5) ab, wobei dieses Band über Rollen läuft, von denen jeweils eine auf beiden Seiten eines Abstützpunktes einer Latte (2) angeordnet sind.
