[origin: EP0355000A1] Optionally cellular, elastic mouldings having a closed surface layer are prepared from polyurea elastomers containing urethane groups and based on a) a polyisocyanate component comprising a polyisocyanate or polyisocyanate mixture from the diphenylmethane series which has optionally been liquefied by chemical modification, b) a polyol component having a (mean) molecular weight of from 1500 to 18000 and a (mean) hydroxyl functionality of at least 2.5, comprising at least one polyether polyol or polyester polyol optionally containing disperse organic fillers, c) aromatic diamines containing an alkyl substituent, at least in each of the ortho-positions to the amino groups, the mixing ratio between components a) and b) corresponding to an NCO/OH equivalent ratio of at least 4:1 and component c) being used in such an amount that the NCO characteristic number, based on components a), b) and c), is from 70 to 130, and at least 90% of component b) being reacted with all of component a) to give an isocyanate-containing semiprepolymer, and the latter being reacted with component c) or a mixture of component c) with up to 10% by weight of component b) by reaction injection moulding.
