[origin: EP0355239A1] In a wire matrix print head of the flap armature type, each printing needle (1) is assigned an armature (4) in a needle guide housing (9) and, in a spool support housing (14), an electromagnetic spool (3) and magnet yokes (3a, 3b). In order to improve the system of the individual armatures (4) and their bearing, it is proposed that, by means of a shaped metal sheet part (19; 19a), all the armatures (4) are held in their respective operating positions relative to each other and are connected to each other and form a unit (4, 19), that this unit (4, 19) is centred via a plurality of cams (25), arranged distributed over the circumference, in the needle guide housing (9), and that cams are provided which also centre this unit (4, 19) in the spool support housing (14). <IMAGE>
