Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0355473A2] A device is proposed, by means of which printed articles can be dried quickly and at low expense in a printing press. This device consists of a radiation apparatus (13) which generates a laser beam. The laser beam is transmitted to the surface of the printed articles (19). The radiation apparatus (13) is arranged outside the printing press (1) and transmission means are provided, for example optical fibre cables (16, 17) which transmit the laser beam, generated by the radiation apparatus (13), to the surface of the printed articles (19). The optical fibre cables (16, 17) are split at their end so that the laser beam contacts the entire width of the surface of the printed articles simultaneously. <IMAGE>
