Abstract (en)
In a double-flow exhaust device with a catalyst (3), the two exhaust gas streams (7a, 7b) are first of all brought together so that they are adjacent to one another in a mixing tube (9), and then leave this mixing tube (9) again in tubes (11a, 11b) lying one above the other. These tubes (11a, 11b) lying one above the other open adjacently into a common catalyst housing (3). This arrangement guarantees homogeneous exhaust gas distribution over the catalyst cross-section. A long mixing section is thus not required; furthermore it is sufficient to provide a lambda sensor (13) in only one (11b) of the two tube(s) leading from the mixing tube (9) to the catalyst (3). <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei einer zweiflutigen Abgasanlage mit einem Katalysator (3) werden die beiden Abgasströme (7a, 7b) zunächst in einem Mischrohr (9) nebeneinanderliegend zusammengeführt, um anschließend daran dieses Mischrohr (9) in übereinanderliegenden Rohren (11a, 11b) wieder zu verlassen. Diese übereinanderliegenden Rohre (11a, 11b) münden nebeneinanderliegend in ein gemeinsames Katalysatorgehäuse (3). Diese Anordnung gewährleistet eine homogene Abgasverteilung über dem Katalysator-Querschnitt. Eine lange Mischstrecke ist hiermit nicht erforderlich; darüber hinaus ist es ausreichend, eine Lambda-Sonde (13) lediglich in einem (11b) der beiden vom Mischrohr (9) zum Katalysator (3) führenden Rohr (e) vorzusehen.
