[origin: EP0356705A2] For the simplification and less expensive manufacture of ink measuring apparatuses, a manual densitometer is connected to an ink control device. For simplifying operation, a user guide is provided by means of a display apparatus coupled to the densitometer. Using the manual densitometer, measurements can be taken on a printed sheet in freely selectable image zones. The image zones can be matched to the subject and the measuring points can be placed in the image region so that ink control strips are not required.
