Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH02120736A] PURPOSE: To rapidly form an ultrahigh contrast dot image at a relatively low pH by adding specified arylhydrazide. CONSTITUTION: An emulsion layer or other hydrophilic colloidal layer of this element contains arylhydrazide represented by formula I wherein Ar is substd. phenyl or (un)substd. aryl, G is CO, SO, etc., X<+> is a group contg. a cationic group, each of R and R<1> is H, 1-6C alkyl, etc., and A<-> is an anion. Arylhydrazide represented by formula II is preferably used as the component represented by the formula I. In the formula II, each of R1 -R5 is H, 1-20C alkyl, etc., Q<+> is trialkylammonium, pyridinium-1-yl, etc., B is a crosslinking group consisting of l-3 methylene groups and A<-> is an anion. A compd. represented by formula III may be used as the component represented by formula II.
