Process for the anti-felting treatment of textiles made of wool or containing wool together with other fibres in a blend, wherein (a) the textile materials are chlorinated in an aqueous liquor to such an extent that the active chlorine uptake is from 0.2 to 2.0% by weight, (b) the chlorinated textile materials are then treated directly with a liquor which contains at least one peroxy compound in solution and optionally (c) 0.5 to 5% by weight, based on the textile materials, of a known polymer for an anti-felting finish is applied. The treatment of wool according to the invention causes virtually no yellowing of the textile material.

Verfahren zur Filzfreiausrüstung von textilen Materialen, die aus Wolle bestehen oder Wolle zusammen mit anderen Fasern im Gemisch enthalten, bei dem (a) die textilen Materialien in wäßriger Flotte soweit chloriert, daß die Aktivchloraufnahme 0,2 bis 2,0 Gew.% beträgt, (b) die chlorierten textilen Materialien dann unmittelbar mit einer Flotte behandelt, die mindestens eine Peroxiverbindung gelöst enthält und gegebenenfalls, (c) 0,5 bis 5 Gew.%, bezogen auf die textilen Materialien, eines bekannten Polymeren für die Filzfreiausrüstung aufbringt. Bei der erfindungsgemäßen Behandlung von Wolle tritt praktisch keine Vergilbung der Ware auf.
