[origin: JPH02133684A] PURPOSE: To uniformly dye a cellulosic fiber material with a constant hue by using a vat dye while reducing the vat dye with an enediol in place of sodium hydrosulfite as a reducing agent together with an water-miscible organic solvent in the presence of an alkali. CONSTITUTION: A cellulosic fiber material is uniformly dyed or printed with constant hue by using a vat dye while reducing the vat dye with an enediol (e.g. a 2-6C α-hydroxyketone or α-hydroxyaldehyde having strong reducing action in an alkaline medium, pref. monohydroxyacetone) in place of sodium hydrosulfite as a reducing agent together with an water-miscible organic solvent (e.g. a lower alcohol, ketone, acetal) at 0.1-10 wt.% (based on the dyeing bath) in an alkaline condition at pH 11-14 using sodium hydroxide or the like.

Verfahren zum Färben und Bedrucken von cellulosischen Fasermaterialien mit Küpenfarbstoffen in Gegenwart von Endiolen als Reduktionsmitteln und Alkali, wobei man zur Reduktion der Küpenfarbstoffe zusätzlich geringe Mengen organischer, mit Wasser mischbarer Lösungsmittel, z.B. niedermolekulare Alkohole, einsetzt. Die Verküpung der Küpenfarbstoffe erfolgt vollständig und gleichmässig in relativ kurzer Zeit, die erhaltenen Küpenfärbungen sind reproduzierbar und zeichnen sich durch gute Egalität und Echtheiten aus.
