[origin: WO8908008A1] A relatively thin, hand-held tool for abrading, sanding or polishing a workpiece. The tool is an elongated body (12) constructed to carry a flexible, endless strip (22). The body (12) includes a handle portion (14) and a workpiece engaging portion (24), which define the path of the endless strip (22). There are guiding side walls (50), (52), (54) and (56) on the handle portion (14) to align the strip along the elongated body (12) and center it with respect to the workpiece engaging portion (24). The body (12) releasably holds the strip (22) under tension and in contact with the path and between the guide walls.

On a mis au point un outil à main relativement mince, permettant d'abraser, de poncer ou de polir une pièce à usiner. L'outil comprend un corps allongé (12) construit pour porter une bande (22) souple sans fin. Le corps (12) comprend une partie de manche (14) ainsi qu'une partie (24) venant au contact de la pièce à usiner, définissant le chemin de ladite bande sans fin (22). On a prévu des parois latérales de guidage (50), (52), (54) et (56) sur la partie de manche (14) afin d'aligner la bande le long du corps allongé (12), et de la centrer par rapport à la partie (24) venant au contact de la pièce à usiner. Le corps (12) maintient sous tension la bande (22) de manière détachable, en contact avec le chemin et entre les parois de guidage.
