[origin: WO8907401A1] The invention provides a rotary cut tobacco drier, comprising a heated rotary drier chamber (10) having one or more inclined paddles arranged to lift and then drop material therein to be dried as the chamber rotates, means (12, 11) for supplying heated air from a heater (13) to one end of the chamber, and means (15) for extracting it from an opposite end of the chamber, said supply and extraction means being arranged so that there is a substantially constant flow of air between them; in which means is provided to control the humidity of the air entering or in the chamber, an increase in humidity decreasing the rate of drying in the chamber.

L'invention décrit un séchoir rotatif pour tabac coupé, comprenant une chambre chauffée (10) possédant une ou plusieurs pales inclinées disposées pour soulever puis faire retomber des matières à sécher à mesure que la chambre tourne, des moyens (12, 11) pour amener à une extrémité de la chambre de l'air chauffé provenant d'un dispositif de chauffage (13), et des moyens (15) pour l'extraire d'une extrémité opposée de la chambre, lesdits moyens d'amenée et d'extraction étant agencés de sorte qu'il y ait un flux sensiblement constant d'air entre eux; un moyen est prévu pour moduler l'humidité de l'air pénétrant ou se trouvant dans la chambre, un accroissement de l'humidité diminuant la vitesse de séchage dans la chambre.
