Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0357906A1] 1. The adequate supply of packaging material to high-performance packaging machines is a particular problem. Firstly, web-shaped packaging material in the form of wound bobbins is to be supplied. Secondly, however, prefabricated blanks stamped from thin cardboard are to be made available to the packaging machine, for example in the production of hinged packs for cigarettes. The blanks are produced at a paper mill. <??>2. For the transporting of blank stacks (22), (disposable) cassettes (21) are provided which possess chambers (23) for receiving a plurality of blank stacks (22). The cassettes (21) are charged with the blank stacks (22) at the paper mill and are emptied in the region of the packaging machine. The cassettes (21) are so designed that a plurality of empty cassettes (21) fit into one another and can be returned to the paper mill as a space-saving unit. <??>3. The cassettes (21) are furthermore designed in such a manner that they can be transported by floor-mounted conveyors without manual intervention. <IMAGE>
