Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0357939A2] In this rotating drum, which is driven on the external circumference and runs on rollers and has, provided in the region of the rotating drum heads which adjoin the rotating drum ends, lines or connection pieces for product input, product gas take-off and solid output for the thermal treatment, low temperature carbonisation or pyrolysis of liquid or solid materials or mixing phases by means of indirect heating, a floating slide-ring sealing system is provided on the input and output side respectively between the moving and the stationary parts of the rotating drum, for the purpose of improved sealing and increased service life of the sealing packings. By means of a respective non-positive frame construction, a rotary connection is made possible between the rotating drum and the two stationary rotating drum heads which are connected to the lines or connection pieces. <IMAGE>
