[origin: EP0357955A1] A phased array waveguide antenna having a plurality of longitudinally extending parallel waveguides (11) arranged in rows and columns, and electrically controlled phase shifter strips (17) disposed in longitudinally extending slots (15) centrally located in respective columns ot waveguides (11). The electrically controlled phase shifter strips (17) include conductive patches (25a, 25b) that are selectively conductively connected together by microwave diodes (27) to provide for variable susceptances (Figure 3).
