[origin: US4725006A] Apparatus for conveying sewage or waste water by means of a rotatable displacement pump positioned within a housing. A cutting device is positioned at a water inlet for cutting solid materials that are part of the waste water to reduce their size in order for the materials to be able to pass through the pump. The pump is an eccentric worm-gear pump and is driven by a motor drive shaft that also drives the rotatable portion of the cutting device. The apparatus has a compact design and provides a high suction capacity, and a conveying capability that is independent of the supply resistance, so that a small diameter pump outlet pipe can be provided for the sewage.

Am unteren Ende (51a) der sich in vertikaler Richtung erstreckenden Welle (51) eines Antriebsmotors (50) liegt der Schneidkopf (56) einer Feststoffzerkleinerungsvorrichtung (55), der ein Zuströmraum (68) vorgeschaltet ist. Die Motorwelle (51) ist weiter über eine Kuppelstange (61) und zwei kardanisch wirkende Gelenke (62, 63) mit dem Rotor (64) einer Exzenterschneckenpumpe (59) gekoppelt. Letztere ist druckseitig mit einer Anschlussleitung (67) verbunden. Die Abwasserfördereinrichtung ist von einfacher, kompakter Bauweise und hat eine hohe Saugleistung und eine vom Förderwiderstand unabhängige Förderleistung, so dass ein geringer Durchmesser der Abwasserdruckleitung möglich ist.
