[origin: EP0358547A1] The present invention relates to a device for gripping and holding at least two flexible parts in order to assemble them by sewing or the like. This device permits the holding of two parts made of fabric which are intended to be assembled by sewing, one (3) of which forms a covering surface for the upper part of a chair seat and the other (5) of which forms a strip surrounding this seat, and comprises a support forming a mould (1) which is capable of receiving these pieces of fabric (3, 5) and comprises means (4) which allow the peripheral clamping of these two pieces by means of application of a pressing plate (9) to the support forming the mould (1), after which the edges (10) of the two pieces of fabric left after clamping are sewn. This device permits the manufacture of an article forming a seat cover for any vehicle. <IMAGE>
