Abstract (en)
[origin: WO8808908A1] A truss frame (10) with three-dimensional bracing includes at least three top rails (12) which are joined together so as to define a substantially planar surface. A plurality of bracing members (14) are attached to the top rails (12) and depend toward a bottom connection (16) which has a predetermined location with respect to the top rails (12). The bottom connection (16) location is chosen so that the bracing members (14) form truss-like braces for the top rails (12). In one embodiment, the top rails (12), bracing members (14), and bottom connection (16) form the shape of a pyramid. A plurality of these truss frames (10) is utilized to form a modular platform. The platform also includes means (18, 20, 22) for fastening the top rails (12) of adjoining truss frames (10) together so as to form a continuous top chord in a direction parallel to that spanned by the connected truss frames (10).
