The clamping device, in particular a toggle-lever clamping device, is intended for clamping workpieces in place and consists of an actuating cylinder (8) having a mounted head piece (13) in which the clamping-lever mechanism coupled to the piston rod (12) is arranged. End-position sensors (11) are arranged in the regulating path of axially movable elements, the connecting leads (1) of which end- position sensors (11) are run to a cable-connecting piece (7) in the area of the actuating cylinder (8). So that the cable-connecting piece (7) can be alternatively arranged laterally or so as to exit to the rear, the connecting leads (1) according to the invention are arranged in a channel (2) of the clamping device, which channel (2) has a branch (4) exiting laterally and a branch (5) leading to the free end (3) of the device. Die Spannvorrichtung, insbesondere Kniehebelspannvorrichtung ist zum Festspannen von Werkstücken bestimmt und besteht aus einem Betätigungszylinder (8) mit aufgesetztem Kopfstück (13), in dem die mit der Kolbenstange (12) gekoppelte Spannhebelmechanik angeordnet ist. Im Stellweg axial beweglicher Elemente sind Endstellungsensoren (11) angeordnet, deren Anschlußleistungen (1) zu einem Kabelanschlußstück (7) im Bereich des Betätigungszylinders (8) geführt sind. Um das Kabelanschlußstück (7) seitlich oder nach hinten abgehend wahlweise anordnen zu können, sind die Anschlußleitungen (1) nach der Erfindung in einem Kanal (2) der Spannvorrichtung angeordnet, der einen seitlich abgehenden und einen zum freien Ende (3) der Vorrichtung führenden Zweig (4, 5) aufweist. Die Vorrichtung ist dabei mit einer Abdeckung (6) versehen, an der das Kabelanschlußstück (7) befestigt und die mit dem Kabelanschlußstück (7) derart umstellbar an der Vorrichtung angeordnet ist, daß das Kabelanschlußstück (7) am Ende des seitlichen Zweiges (4) oder am Ende des anderen Zweiges (5) des Kanales (2) sitzt.
