Abstract (en)
For a fibre-reinforced light metal cylinder for reciprocating piston engines, in particular internal-combustion engines, it is proposed that, in the form of a composite with the light metal, the cylinder comprises a tubular fibre formed part produced from short fibres, which fibre formed part contains separate long fibres in an arrangement essentially parallel to the axis of the cylinder.

Für einen faserverstärkten Leichtmetall-Zylinder für Hubkolbenmaschinen, insbesondere Brennkraftmaschinen, wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Zylinder im Werkstoffverbund mit dem Leichtmetall ein aus Kurzfasern gefertigtes, rohrförmiges Faserformteil umfaßt, das gesonderte Langfasern in zur Zylinderachse im wesentlichen paralleler Anordnung enthält.
