[origin: EP0359199A2] The scaffold has an undercarriage (10) with a front side (12) which is arranged at least approximately parallel to the wall in the position of usage. On the undercarriage (10), a mast (30) is supported so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis (40) which is adjacent to the front side (12) and is at least approximately parallel to the latter. Guided on the mast (30) is an equipment carrier (70) which can be moved upwards and downwards by means of a lifting device (60). Near to its front side (12), the under- carriage (10) has two running wheels (14, 16), of which one running wheel (12) can be driven and has a running direction parallel to the front side (12), and the second running wheel (16) has a running direction at an acute angle to the front side (12). <IMAGE>
