[origin: EP0359346A1] A kit for a security fence is proposed which consists of trellis mats and fence posts. The metal fence posts are formed from a holding profile (1) having lateral undercuts and a u-shaped slotted profile (4) which is to be pressed onto said holding profile and the limbs (6, 8) of which are slotted to accommodate longitudinal wires (13, 14, 15, 16) of the trellis mat (11, 12) and have at their ends (3, 9) gripping edges which grip into the undercuts on the holding profile. The trellis mats (11, 12) are only removable by forcible bending of each individual one of the many slats formed by the slots (5, 7) on the slotted profile (4), while a slight pressure is sufficient for clamping in the slotted profile (4) during assembly of the security fence. <IMAGE>
