Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0359863A1] The HV generator provides HV pulses with a high current level to obtain shock waves coupled to an acoustic transmission medium. It uses a signal generator (10) supplying a LV signal (A) coupled to the shock wave source (1) via a pulse forming network (11) which shortends the durations of the LV pulses (A), to obtain corresponding HV pulses with the same energy content. Pref the pulse forming network comprises a multi-stage LC all pass filter, the pulses received from the signal generator (10) pref. having a variable signal duration and/or amplitude via an incorporated D/H converter (20) and an electronic processor (21).
