Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0359903A2] Aluminium suitcases or similar suitcases, which consist of several panels and a frame composed of profile elements, serve in many cases for transporting and for storing expensive equipment. In this case, the profile elements of the frame form two outer profiles and two central profiles. The outer profiles and central profiles are connected to each other by perpendicular profile strips. The intention of the invention is to improve the stability of a suitcase of this type. The invention proposes to manufacture the central profiles of uninterrupted and continuous profile strips, these central profiles having a rounded contour in the region of the suitcase edges, inserts being able to avoid weakening of the central profiles in the region of the suitcase edges. Furthermore, the stability can be increased by the fact that the individual profile elements are linked by means of pin connections to connection elements which connect the individual profile elements to one another. Finally, the outer profiles can advantageously be formed from angular profile strips, and the individual elements of the suitcase can be bonded together so that an extremely stable structure is achieved by this means too.
