[origin: EP0359940A2] The invention relates to a shuttle guide on flat looms, in which a shuttle rotates on a closed path, composed of the path portion in the shed along the weaving reed, the opposite return path portion and the reversing arcs connecting these portions, and is pivotable out of the shuttle path by a pivoting device. A shuttle guide of this type is to be designed so that frictional contacts between the shuttle and the warp yarns are avoided and the heating of the shuttle has no harmful effects on the warp yarns, without the measures to be taken impairing the operating reliability of the loom or having an adverse affect on the weaving process. This is achieved in that the shuttle guide consists of individual plate- like and/or wire-like bow-shaped lamellae which are arranged in series at a distance from one another in the weft direction and which so surround the shuttle that it does not touch either the cross-shed or the lower shed when it slides or rolls through the shed, and which can be pivoted in and out jointly relative to the shuttle path by means of a pivoting device.
