The invention relates to an annular buffer of elastic material for fastener-driving tools, having a central passage (2) as well as axial or essentially axial bores (3) arranged preferably on a pitch circle and having a preferably circular cross-section in its circumferential area (11). To increase the service life, provision is made for at least one slot (6) each to run from at least one or more of the bores (3) in the direction of the inner circumferential surface (4) or the outer circumferential surface (5). <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen ringförmigen Prellpuffer (1) aus elastischem Material für Befestigungsmittel-Eintreibgeräte mit zentraler Durchgangsöffnung (2) sowie mit axialen oder im wesentlichen axialen, vorzugsweise auf einem Lochkreis angeordneten, Bohrungen (3) mit vorzugsweise kreisförmigem Querschnitt in seinem Mantelbereich (11). Zur Vergrößerung der Lebensdauer ist vorgesehen, daß wenigstens von einer oder mehreren der Bohrungen (3) aus je mindestens ein Schlitz (6) in Richtung der Mantelinnenfläche (4) oder der Mantelaußenfläche (5) verläuft.
