Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0360142A1] The invention relates to a device for increasing the adhesion length of slivers, in particular textile slivers. In the spinning process, efforts are made to give the fibres in the sliver a parallel alignment as far as possible. By this means, the adhesion length of the sliver is naturally reduced and leads to undesired sliver ruptures during the processing operation. <??>It is therefore proposed to pass the sliver (1) between two calender rollers (4, 5), the calender rollers being provided on their outer circumference with tooth-like elevations (16), the elevations (16) being able to engage in one another in the manner of a toothed wheel and being of small size. <IMAGE>
