To make it possible to operate a continuous dyeing apparatus for dyeing cotton in indigo by recycling a wastewater-free wash liquor without unacceptable reduction in the fresh water supply, the textile material is intermediately dried after the wetting and before and/or during the dyeing to equal out the liquid balance by evaporation of water.

Um in einer Continuefärbeanlage zum Indigofärben von Baumwolle eine abwasserfreie Waschwasserrückführung ohne unzulässige Verminderung der Frischwasserzufuhr zu ermöglichen, wird die Ware im Anschluß an das Netzen sowie vor und/oder während des Färbens zum Ausgleich der Flüssigkeitsbilanz durch Verdampfen von Wasser zwischengetrocknet.
