[origin: US4939997A] Subcaliber ammunition, especially for utilization with cannon which are mounted on board aircraft, including a subcaliber projectile core and a propulsion mechanism. The propulsion mechanism is constructed as an inherently stable secondary projectile which flies at a readily estimatable trajectory. The propulsion mechanism continues to fly in the manner of a projectile subsequent to the separation thereof from the projectile core.

Bei einer unterkalibrigen Munition, insbesondere für Flugzeugbordkanonen, soll sichergestellt sein, daß ein sich von einem Geschoßkern (6) trennender Treibspiegel (1) abschußseitig nicht zu Gefährdungen führt. Es ist hierfür der Treibspiegel als Röhrengeschoß (1) ausgebildet, in dem der Geschoßkern (6) koaxial angeordnet ist.
