Bei einer Brennvorrichtung für Holz, bestehend aus einer Frontwand (1) mit Brennstoff-Einfüllöffnung (7) und Frischluft-Einlauföffnung, zwei Seitenwänden (2,3), einer Rückwand (4), einer Bodenwand (5), einer Deckenwand (6) und einer Tür für die Brennstoff-Einfüllöffnung sowie mit einer Frischluft-Einlauföffnung mit Regelelement zur Verstellung der Frischluft-Einlauföffnung und einem Rauchgas-Abzug, ist zur Verbesserung des Brennverhaltens vorgesehen, daß in der unteren Hälfte der Rückwand (6) ein horizontaler Schlitz (8) ausgebildet ist, der durch die gesamte Wandstärke hindurchgeführt und in Richtung derselben düsenförmig verjüngt ist, daß im Bereich des engsten Querschnitts in den Schlitz ein Luft-Zuführungskanal (10) einmündet, der andererseits im Bereich des Regelelementes der Tür beginnt, daß die Bodenwand eine gitterrostfreie Wand ist, daß die Frischluft-Einlauföffnung im Bereich der Brennstoff-Einfüllöffnung liegt und daß die von der Tür verschlossene einzige Öffnung der Frontwand und der Schlitz in der Rückwand die einzigen Öffnungen des Brennraums sind.
