The invention relates to a so-called "total-opening" metal barrel closure device. The cover (9) of the closure according to the invention comprises a peripheral groove (15) consisting of a flat ring portion (13) connected to a crown portion (12) and a lip (14). The clamping collar (18), consisting of a slotted ring clamped in position, comprises a plane portion (19) bearing against the flat ring (13) of the cover (9), a crown portion (20) bearing on the cylindrical lip (14) of the cover and a frustoconical portion (21) clamped on the curled edge (23) of the barrel against a gasket (16) disposed in the groove (15). This closure makes it possible to meet increased safety requirements in the field of the transportation of hazardous liquid materials and, in particular, paints, varnishes and adhesives. <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne un dispositif de fermeture de fût métallique dit "à ouverture totale". Le couvercle (9) de la fermeture selon l'invention comporte une gorge (15) périphérique constituée d'une partie en anneau plat (13) raccordée à une partie en couronne (12) et un rebord (14). Le collier de serrage (18), constitué d'un anneau fendu serré en place, comporte une partie plane (19) s'appuyant contre l'anneau plat (13) du couvercle (9), une partie en couronne (20) s'appuyant sur le rebord cylindrique (14) du couvercle et une partie tronconique (21) serrant le bord en volute (23) du fût contre un joint (16) disposé dans la gorge (15). Cette fermeture permet de répondre à des exigences accrues en matière de sécurité dans le domaine du transport des matières liquides dangereuses et notamment des peintures, vernis et adhésifs.
