[origin: WO8907913A1] A tendon stripper for excision of a tendon through a single skin incision comprises a head (6) containing a rotary knife (7) which can be placed around and slid along a tendon in the surrounding sheath. The tendon must be severed at the site of transition with the muscle. To this end, the tendon stripper comprises a cylindrical head (6) and a cylindrical knife (7), both of which have a lateral opening (15 and 18 respectively) through which a tendon introduced through the central opening (17) can emerge laterally from the knife (7) and the head (6). A first cutting edge (18a), together with the opposite edge of the opening (15) in the head (6), forms a tendon-severing device when the knife (7) is rotated relative to the head (6). A second cutting edge (20) of the knife (7), which extends around the entire periphery of the latter, forms a frontal cutting device which serves to extract the tendon in the sheath amongst others from the tendinaculi and to detach it at its end from the muscle. An adjusting ring (13) makes it possible to obtain different operating positions of the tendon stripper which differ in respect of the different limits of the rotational movements of the knife (6) and of the relative displacement of these rotational movements. In this way, tendons can be extracted from their sheaths and severed from their muscles easily and reliably, without risk of damage to the tendons.

Afin de permettre l'excision d'un tendon d'un corps avec une seule incision de la peau, un dispositif de ténotomie comprend une tête (6) qui contient un couteau rotatif (7) que l'on place autour d'un tendon et que l'on peut faire avancer le long du tendon, dans la bourse qui l'entoure. Il faut pouvoir exciser le tendon à l'endroit où il pénètre dans le muscle. A cet effet, le dispositif de ténotomie comprend une tête cylindrique (6) et un couteau cylindrique (7) qui présentent tous les deux d'un côté une ouverture (15, resp. 18) à travers laquelle un tendon introduit par l'ouverture contrale (17) peut sortir latéralement du couteau (7) et de la tête (6). Un premier bord tranchant (18a) forme avec le bord opposé de l'ouverture (15) de la tête (6) un dispositif de ténotomie lorsque l'on fait pivoter le couteau (7) par rapport à la tête (6). Un deuxième bord tranchant (20) du couteau (7), qui s'étend autour de toute la périphérie de celui-ci, forme un dispositif de coupe frontale qui sert à dégager le tendon dans sa bourse entre autres des tendinaculi et à le séparer par son extrémité du muscle. Une bague de réglage (13) permet d'obtenir différentes positions de fonctionnement du dispositif de ténotomie qui se distinguent par différents degrés de limitation des mouvements de rotation du couteau (6) et par le décalage entre ces mouvements de rotation. On peut ainsi extraire et exciser de manière aisée et sûre les tendons de leur bourse et des muscles sans risques de blessure des tendons.
