Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0362808A2] A silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the silver halide color photographic material contains a coupler represented by the following general formula (I): <CHEM> wherein X and Y each represents a nitrogen atom or a methine group; n represents 1 or 2, when n is 2, two X's and two Y's may be the same or different; Z represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary to form a heterocyclic ring or aromatic ring together with <CHEM> W represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon a reaction with an oxidation product of a developing agent; and R1 and R2 each represents a substituent, and at least one of R1 and R2 represents an electron attractive substituent. The silver halide color photographic material containing the cyan dye forming coupler represented by the general formula (I) provides color images excellent in sharpness and preservability.
