[origin: EP0363699A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for closing containers with a push-in cover, with an unstacking unit (1-6), an inclined slide (15) arranged thereafter with a cover-allocation system (8-12) situated at its end, and a supporting roller (12) articulated on the inclined slide (15). The unstacking of the covers is carried out by means of rotatable catches (6) which can be operated by means of a linkage which is moved by the arriving containers. The stop (10) of the cover allocation, which engages laterally on the cover, is arranged, via a further linkage, to be releasable by the containers supplied. The supporting roller (12), which is vertically liftable above the containers transversely to the conveyor device and is arranged after the inclined slide (15), stabilises the sliding of the cover onto the container opening. <IMAGE>
