[origin: EP0363915A2] The folding machine has the guide device (20) in the region of the feed (44) of the folding pocket (24) in order to guide the sheet (16), which is supplied by the pair of rollers (10, 12), into the folding pocket (24) between itself and the guide plate (22). The guide device (20) consists of a number of profiled segments (38, 38') which, seen in the longitudinal direction of the support (18), are introduced into a groove (36) and held therein by means of clamping screws (42). The sheet (16) supplied has, on the side which is turned towards the segments (38, 38'), adhesive strips which run in the direction of movement of the sheet (16). In the region of these adhesive strips, the segments (38, 38') are at a distance from one another in order not to come into contact with the adhesive. By virtue of the fact that the guide device (20) has a number of individual segments (38, 38'), it can be adapted to the different formats of the sheets (16) without problems. <IMAGE>
