[origin: EP0363957A2] The subject of the invention is a mechanical locking device consisting of a lock and a key. The lock includes a releasable bolt (2) with an insertion head (5). Formed on the side face of the insertion head (5) is at least one longitudinal rib (7), the cross-sectional profile of which corresponds to that of code recesses (8) in code fixers (6) which are arranged in the housing (1) so as to be displaceable transversely relative to the insertion head (5).
