Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0364660A2] The invention relates to a cylinder lock with a cylinder housing (1) and with a cylinder core (2) mounted rotatably inside it and having a key channel (3) extending in its axial direction, and with a closing toe (5) mounted rotatably in the cylinder housing and coupled to the cylinder core, there being in the cylinder housing (1) and in the cylinder core (2) a plurality of mutually aligned bores which extend into the channel (3) and in which housing pins (8), preferably of equal length, and core pins (9) of differing length are prestressed in the direction of the channel by spring force, there being formed between the cylinder housing (1) and cylinder core (2) a first gap through which the housing pins (8) pass when the key (4) is not inserted, and the ends of the core pins (9) interacting with the notches of the key (4) such that, with the key inserted, the pins are displaced in their axial direction into a position in which the bearing ends of all the core and housing pins are located in the first gap and thus allow the cylinder core (2) and the closing toe (5) to rotate. According to the invention, to couple the cylinder core (2) to the closing toe (5) there is a sleeve (6) which is mounted rotatably between the cylinder core (2) and the housing (1) and which thereby forms, in addition to the first gap relative to the cylinder housing (1), a second gap relative to the cylinder core (2), the core pins (9) having a lower strength than the sleeve (6) and the housing pins (8). This ensures that the closing toe (5) cannot be rotated even after the core pins (9) have been forcibly sheared off. <IMAGE>
