[origin: EP0364833A1] In a projectile, on the one hand an ejecting charge (10) is to develop sufficiently high pressure for a sufficient time to eject a payload (15). On the other hand, the jacket of the ejecting charge (10) must not burst into fragments of a kind which can damage the payload (15). Fixed in the projectile case (1) there is a receptacle (3) for the ejecting charge (10), which withstands the pressure generated upon combustion of the ejecting charge (10). The receptacle (3) has a multiplicity of openings, through which the propellant gas generated during combustion escapes. The ejecting charge (10) is fitted into the receptacle (3) in a thin-walled shell (11). <IMAGE>
