[origin: EP0365430A1] The lifting ring has a body comprising a threaded part 1 which is continued by a support part 2 and a head 3 of larger diameter. Bearing on the support part 3 is an intermediate piece 5 which butts against the head 3 and which may rotate freely about 360 DEG around the part 2. The connection between the part 2 and the piece 5 is produced by means of a linking ring 8 which is fitted into facing recesses 6, 7. The piece 5 has two aligned journals 9 towards the outside on which the ends of a fastening loop 11 are mounted in a pivoting fashion. The integral structure of the lifting ring provides an excellent acceptance of force in the load 12 where the body of the ring is inserted. The lifting ring is particularly designed for a fixing along the horizontal axis in heavy loads intended to undergo a turning movement. <IMAGE>
