[origin: EP0365466A2] Slide gate nozzle for metallurgical casting vessels having a sealing plate, fixed to the vessel, and a slide gate plate made of heat-resistant material, which are each provided with a passage bore for the metallurgical melt and of which the slide gate plate with guide ways is axially displaceably guided in resiliently mounted pressure rails in such a way that the plates with their mutually facing sealing surfaces slide on top of one another and the passage bores can be covered and uncovered, wherein the pressure rails (10) are in each case held freely on a shaft (11) resiliently mounted counter to the pressure direction, and the guide ways (8) of the slide gate plate (3) exhibit a curvature facing the pressure rails (10). The effective pressure length (A) of the pressure rails (10) is greater than the distance, measured in the sliding direction, between the maxima of the guide ways of two slide gate plates lying one behind the other, but smaller than the distance of the outer maxima of the three plates lying one behind the other. The pressure rails (10) are provided on both sides of their effective pressure length with chamfered feed zones.
