Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8908769A1] A drill, in particular for blast holes, comprises a mounting for the advance and withdrawal of the drill string composed of individual drill rods, an advance system, an hydraulic drive for the drill string, an injection head on the mounting, which can be detached from or displaced with the drill string, and an hydraulic down-hole hammer arranged at the front end of the drill string. To permit easy and rapid exchange of the drill string in a drill of the above-mentioned type having a hydraulic down-hole hammer at the front end of the drill string, the hydraulic drive (15) of the drill string imparts an oscillating movement to the latter. The pivoting angle of the drill string is between 180 DEG and 360 DEG . An oscillating motor with a drive (16) is used as the drive (15). It is thereby possible to lodge the requisite lines for actuating the down-hole hammer in the annular space between the drill string and the borehole wall or in recesses in the drill string itself, so that the lines need not be dismantled when the drill string is changed.
