Eine Schlitzdüse zum Auftragen eines flüssigen, hochpolymeren Werkstoffes, insbesondere eines Schmelzklebstoffes auf der Basis von Polyurethan, mit einem Düsenkörper (12, 14) einem Zuführkanal (18) für den flüssigen Werkstoff in dem Düsenkörper (12, 14) einem steuerbaren Absperrventil (20), einer sich an den Zuführkanal (18) anschließenden Ausbreitkammer (37) und mit einem mit der Ausbreitkammer (37) verbundenen Austrittsschlitz (38) weist ein Absperrventil (20) auf, das in dem Düsenkörper (12, 14) integriert ist; der flüssige, hochpolymere Werkstoff strömt auf einer im wesentlichen geraden Strecke von dem Absperrventil (20) durch einen kurzen Zuführkanal in die Ausbreitkammer (37).
