The invention consists in that, at a distance from the crate bottom (1), at least one projection (8) is provided, which projects into a compartment of the compartment arrangement, that this distance is greater than the distance of the centre of gravity (10) of the bottle (13) to be inserted from the bottle bottom (11), that the distance between that end (9) of this projection (8) which projects into the compartment and the central axis of the compartment is equal to or greater than the greatest radius of that section of a bottle to be inserted which is situated below the projection (8) and that, in the region of the crate bottom (1), a free space is provided, which allows a sideways movement of the bottle bottom (11), at least after release. <IMAGE>
