Abstract (en)
A slip-resistant shoe sole has an outsole layer bearing a series of transverse grooves. At least some of these grooves are joined by interconnection grooves. The transverse grooves and the interconnection grooves form the perimeters of a plurality of friction elements. The transverse grooves define a series of transverse regions across the length of the sole. The friction elements of alternate transverse regions comprise relatively longer friction bars and the friction elements of intervening transverse regions comprise relatively shorter friction pads.
