[origin: EP0367684A2] According to the invention, a thermoplastic coating material in solid form is continuously conveyed into a heating and spreading block (1), the material being progressively softened in the block and conveyed in liquid form under the block in order successively to be distributed, flattened and spread on the runner (12) of the ski, then expelled under pressure by a transverse scraper (14) which is integral with the spreading block (1). The scraper (14) is a steel bar of rectangular cross-section, the lower edge (16) of which extends slightly below the lower surface (8) of the spreading block (1).
