[origin: EP0367883A1] In order to design a railway wagon for the transport of vehicles, such as lorries and buses, in which the vehicles can drive onto it in at least one plane from both end sides and in which people can walk about in it, for use in tunnels and in accordance with safety regulations, i.e. to enable the end sides to be closed in an airtight and fire-resistant manner in an emergency, the railway wagon is characterised by a structure closed on all sides and consisting of side walls (1, 2), a roof (3) and a floor (4) with end-side openings (5) which can each be sealed by a fire-protection roller gate of airtight and fire-resistant design, preferably three fire-protection roller gates (6, 7, 8), which are combined laterally with swing doors (10, 11).
