Aerated filter cigarettes having a predominant "American Blend" flavour based exclusively on Virginia tobacco varieties, whose mainstream smoke has a condensate/nicotine ratio of 5:1 to 9:1 with a condensate value according to DIN 10240 of not more than 10 mg, a pH of above 6.0 and a Herzfeld harmful substances index (HSI) below 35, characterised by the combination of features that a) the filling tobacco consists of virtually pure untreated Virginia tobacco with no flavour-modifying additives and having a high nicotine content, based on the dry substance, of 2 to 3.5 % by weight, b) the packing density of the filling tobacco is 150 to 250 mg/cm<3>, c) the cigarette paper has an air permeability of 3 to 20 CORESTA units according to DIN/ISO 2965, features a) to c) being selected so that the finished rod is in the conventional hardness/haptic range of 1.9 to 2.5 mm ET, and that d) the filter is a fine-denier cellulose acetate filter provided with conventional hardening agents and no flavour-modifying additives, and i) an individual count of 1.3 to 2.5 denier or 1.44 to 2.77 dtex.

Ventilierte Filtercigaretten mit vorherrschendem "American-Blend"-Geschmack auf Basis von ausschließlich Virginia-Tabaksorten, deren Hauptstromrauch ein Kondensat/Nikotin-Verhältnis von 5:1 bis 9:1 bei einem Kondensatwert nach DIN 10240 von höchstens 10 mg, einen pH-Wert von über 6,0 und einen Schadstoffindex (SI) nach Herzfeld unter 35 aufweist, gekennzeichnet durch die Kombination der Merkmale, daß a) der Fülltabak aus praktisch reinem naturbelassenen Virginia-Tabak ohne geschmacksverändernde Zusätze mit einem hohen Nikotingehalt, bezogen auf die Trockensubstanz, von 2 bis 3,5 Gew. % besteht, b) die Packungsdichte des Fülltabaks 150 bis 250 mg/cm³ beträgt, c) das Cigarettenpapier eine Luftdurchlässigkeit von 3 bis 20 CORESTA-Einheiten nach DIN/ISO 2965 besitzt, wobei die Merkmale a) bis c) derart ausgewählt sind, daß der gefertigte Strang im üblichen Härte/Haptik-Bereich von 1,9 bis 2,5 mm ET liegt und daß d) der Filter ein mit üblichen Härtern versehener feintitriger Celluloseacetatfilter ohne geschmacksverändernde Zusätze ist und i) einen Einzeltiter von 1,3 bis 2,5 Denier bzw. 1,44 bis 2,77 d tex,
