Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0368234A2] The invention relates to an apparatus for straightening coiled strip material and for inserting the same into the feeding means of a processing machine, consisting of an unwinder (1) and, arranged downstream from the latter, a straightening unit (6) which is fitted with lower and upper straightening rollers and, if appropriate, feed rollers. In order to provide a device of the generic type which not only allows direct receipt of the strip beginning "unwinder/straightening unit", but also a transfer of the strip beginning "straightening unit/feeding means" and, additionally, a setting of the distance between the straightening unit and the feeding means of the processing machine in such a way that optimum loop formation is guaranteed, it is proposed according to the invention that the straightening unit (6) can be moved between the unwinder (1) and the feeding means of the processing machine, preferably a press. The unwinder (1) and the straightening unit (6) are arranged on a common platform (2). The straightening unit (6) is attached to, preferably suspended on, one or more guides (7). <IMAGE>
