[origin: EP0368778A1] Possibly plastic but generally metal fence consisting essentially of a welded wire grid obtained by welding, preferably at each intersection point, of two superposed layers of intersecting wires, horizontal and vertical respectively, and in the form of panels made integral with support posts planted in the ground. It is composed of support posts (5) having a substantially capital-A-shaped horizontal section, the hollow inner section (7) of which interacts, at its upper part, with a cap piece (22) which is inserted therein and which furthermore serves as a support for the upper horizontal wire of the fence or receives the end of a smooth section (17, 17') forming a handrail, and the two lips (8, 9) of which serve, over their entire length, for fastening a plurality of clamp/nut assemblies (31) and clips for fastening the wire grid to the said support posts by means of rebates (41, 42). <IMAGE>
