[origin: EP0368799A1] In an air-nozzle loom, the weaving reed (31) has a guide channel (32) for the weft yarn to be introduced, the guide channel having a trough-shaped cross section with essentially parallel channel walls (37, 38) and with a channel bottom (33) extending transversely to these. The fabric support (40), at its end facing the fabric (1), projects so far into the guide channel that the shortest distance between the fabric-guide surface (43) and the channel bottom (33) is less than one third of the average distance between the channel walls (37, 38). Thus, during the looping of the weft yarn, the fabric is guided between the guide channel (32) and the fabric support (40) so accurately that an especially uniform fabric is obtained. <IMAGE>
